Interviewer: Can you tell us more about your experience with metal detecting and how you got started?

Terry Shannon: Sure, I've always been interested in history and archaeology, so I decided to take up metal detecting as a hobby. I joined "The Gold Diggers" club and started going on hunts with other members. It's been an incredible journey so far. I've found many valuable artifacts and treasures, including coins, jewelry, and even some historical items.

Interviewer: What do you think sets the Minelab Equinox 800 metal detector apart from other detectors?

Terry Shannon: The advanced features and the ability to customize the search settings make the Minelab Equinox 800 stand out. It's also very versatile and can detect all types of metals, including gold nuggets. I've used other detectors in the past, but the Equinox 800 is by far the best one I've ever used.

Interviewer: Can you walk us through the moment you found the gold nugget worth over $10,000?

🙍🏼‍♂️

Terry Shannon: It was just a routine hunt, and I wasn't expecting to find anything significant. But when I heard the signal from my detector, I knew I had found something special. I started digging, and when I finally uncovered the nugget, I was in shock. It was an incredible feeling. I couldn't believe my luck, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my metal detecting career.

Interviewer: What advice would you give to someone who is interested in taking up metal detecting as a hobby?

🙍🏼‍♂️

Terry Shannon: My advice would be to join a club and learn from experienced detectorists. It's also important to invest in a good quality metal detector and to be patient. You never know when you'll strike gold, and it can take some time before you find something valuable. It's also important to be respectful of the environment and follow all local laws and regulations.

Interviewer: What has been your most memorable discovery so far?

🙍🏼‍♂️

Terry Shannon: It's hard to pick just one, but I would say my most memorable discovery was a collection of Roman coins that I found last year. The coins were in excellent condition and were estimated to be over 1,500 years old. It was a truly amazing find, and it's one that I will never forget.

Interviewer: What are your future goals and plans as a metal detectorist?

🙍🏼‍♂️

Terry Shannon: My main goal is to continue enjoying the hobby and making new discoveries. I also hope to inspire others to take up metal detecting and to appreciate the history and culture of our world. I plan to keep using the Minelab Equinox 800 and to explore new areas for potential finds.
